NY PSC approved expansion of solar market

The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) approved the Governor’s plan to dramatically expand the New York solar market.

The new framework will achieve at least 10 Gigawatts (10,000 MWs) of new distributed solar by 2030, which is enough clean energy to power nearly 700,000 additional New York homes Annually.

The project dramatically raises the cash incentive for small to medium commercial solar projects for ConEdison customers from 20c a watt to $1.20 – which will spur dramatic solar investments.

The program also extends solar incentives for other utilities in New York.

It will be first-come, first-served, so… anyone considering solar should file their applications ASAP.
