But – did you know that hot water is responsible for 15 to 20% of the average homeowner’s energy expense? According to the US Dept of energy, water heating is the second largest energy expense in our homes. The average household consumes 64 gallons of hot water a DAY. Depending on where you live and how you heat your hot water, the energy costs range from $400 to $800 a year.
Even worse – every day in the United States, 5,000 water heaters fail – and 80% of them wind up in landfills.
